Compression molding / pressing

Compression molding / pressing

Compression molding uses pre-formed rubber blanks close to the shape of the final product. The blank is placed into the mold cavity, the mold is closed, and then loaded into a hydraulic press with heated platens. Heat and pressure compress the rubber to fill the cavity. Excess material flows into overflow channels, the part cures for a defined time, then the mold is opened and the part is removed. The mold is reloaded and the cycle repeats.
